I have an Uncle George, who I was named after. I grew up in a small town in Kentucky. My uncle lived near a bar that bears some resemblance to the one we filmed in our movie, albeit much less safe. This bar had a jukebox and a cigarette machine. So, I would go into this bar for cigarettes and might spend some time there, especially in the summer. I worked at the racetrack with my uncle, and I was about the same age as our main character then. The music that played there, and all the details of that bar, have been etched in my soul. I still remember them.
