Mia Gypsy Mello da Silva Goth was born in the London borough of Southwark in November 1993. When Mia was still a child, the family moved to Brazil, her mother's homeland, where her grandparents lived: American artist and musician Lee Jaffe and Brazilian actress Maria Gladys.Mia spent the first five years of her life in Rio, living with her maternal grandparents. In the "The Gun" chapter, Goth played P, a 15-year-old daughter of criminals – a lonely and vulnerable girl who quickly becomes attached to the main character Joe (actress Charlotte Gainsbourg). "I was 18, and this film changed my life. Trier showed me the direction. I am still grateful to him," Mia recalls.Mia described her most inspiring role as Harriet Smith in the Victorian-style tragicomedy "Emma" (2020) – a modest girl who was supposed to marry a farmer but ended up without a match due to her friend, the audacious matchmaker Emma (Anya Taylor-Joy). "Harriet is unlike anyone I've ever played. She comes from a world I don’t understand well. But her essence touched me deeply," Goth characterized this experience. In 2022, the first part of the "X" trilogy by independent horror director Ti West was released. Mia Goth played the lead role, an aspiring porn star from the 70s named Maxine. She and her crew travel to rural America to shoot a groundbreaking film for her career, unaware of what lies ahead. Notably, Mia also transformed into the film's main antagonist. The second part, "Pearl", which is chronologically the first, followed, with Goth also co-writing the screenplay.
