Biography of Kate Mara
Kate Mara is a Hollywood actress who has appeared in more than fifty roles across 38 movies and 20 TV series. She's best known for playing Hayden McClain, Ben Harmon's vengeful mistress, in American Horror Story and ambitious journalist Zoe Barnes in the political thriller House of Cards, earning her a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
In 2015, she received the Max Mara Face of the Future Award from Women In Film. In 2017, she co-produced and starred in the romantic drama My Days of Mercy.

Her Childhood and Family
The future actress was born on February 27, 1983, in Bedford. Her father Timothy Christopher was a vice president of the New York Giants and NFL scout. Her mother Kathleen McNulty (nee Rooney) was a housewife and took care of her children.
Her family owns the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers football teams, both founded by her great-grandfathers. Wellington Mara was the president of the Giants, and after his death in 2005, it was succeeded by her father's brother John. Her grandfather, Dan Rooney, a former US Ambassador to Ireland, was a chairman of the Steelers. Then her cousin, Art Rooney II, became the president of the Steelers.


Kate began acting on the stage at the age of 9 in a school musical. Subsequently, the girl attended several theater-arts schools. In 1993, she auditioned for the TV show Homicide for the first time. She did not get the role but realized that she wanted to become an actress.

A year later, the thriller Shooter was released, where the actress starred as Sarah, the widow of another main character - sniper Bob (Mark Wahlberg), who helped him clear his name. In 2008, Mara appeared in two projects. She played one of the lead roles in the crime movie Transsiberian, where Woody Harrelson, Emily Mortimer, and Eduardo Noriega also starred. She previously dated director Joseph McGinty Nichol, known as McG, who created the TV series Supernatural, and English actor Charlie Cox, known for his roles in the fantasy film Stardust and TV series Boardwalk Empire and Daredevil.In July 2017, Kate married the English actor Jamie Bell. The couple met while filming Fantastic Four in 2015. It was Bell's second marriage (from 2011 to 2014, he was married to the American actress Evan Rachel Wood; their son was born in 2013). In 2019, the couple welcomed their first child together.
