During the production of the film "Den of Thieves 2: Pantera," 55-year-old actor Gerard Butler faced serious difficulties. It became known that most of the filming took place for him under conditions of severe pain.

Gerard shared that creating the sequel was a challenging ordeal due to a knee injury, reports Entertainment Weekly.

About a month before starting work on the film, the British actor tore his anterior cruciate ligament. Due to a tight schedule, he couldn't undergo surgery, so he had to shoot the action film while injured.

The actor described the filming process as "horrible" and himself as "whiny" because it was difficult for him to move around the set.

His co-star, O'Shea Jackson Jr., confirmed that the film included many scenes on stairs, which caused Butler additional pain.

Several years ago, he even considered quitting acting due to the consequences of a serious accident in 2017. That year, Butler was involved in an accident when a woman driver crashed into his motorcycle.

During the collision, the actor suffered fractures, resulting in numerous surgeries.

Fortunately, Gerard managed to recover successfully and continue acting. According to the actor, he is too fond of cinema.

Early in his career, Butler admitted he was "obsessed with fame." But carving out a career in film was very difficult.

Initially, he struggled to land any roles. During this period, the future star of "300" worked various jobs: as a waiter and a vendor at fairs.

Luck smiled on him during the filming of "Mrs Brown." He even got hypothermia while swimming naked in icy water. The young actor's talent was recognized, leading to his rapid ascent to Hollywood fame.
