Andrew Garfield's Biography

Andrew Garfield is a popular American actor who gained worldwide fame for his role as Spider-Man in the film of the same name directed by Marc Webb (2012). He is a BAFTA TV Award winner (2008) for his performance in "Boy A" and a Golden Globe nominee (2017) for his role as Desmond Doss in Mel Gibson's film "Hacksaw Ridge".

Andrew was born in sunny California to an English mother and an American father of Jewish descent. His paternal ancestors hailed from Russia and Poland, and they were the ones who changed the family name from "Garfinkeln" to "Garfield".
