Childhood and Family

Evan Thomas Peters was born in the winter of 1987 to an American family, Phil and Julie Peters, in the town of St. Louis, Missouri. His father, the vice president of the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, was married twice. Through his father, Evan has a sister named Michelle. His mother, a homemaker, cared for Evan and his brother Andrew. The family was devout, so the boys attended St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Elementary School.

When Evan turned 14, the family moved to Grand Blanc, where he began exploring his artistic talents. His cheerful nature and artistic inclinations were noticed by a teacher who led a drama club. Peters started appearing on stage, participating in various creative competitions, often winning prizes.

His parents supported his endeavors and, on the teacher's advice, enrolled Evan in a drama studio. Simultaneously, he attended a modeling school and excelled in this field. After winning the top prize at a competition in Florida, Peters landed a photoshoot with a renowned professional who recommended him to an agent in Los Angeles.

First Roles

To realize his creative potential, sixteen-year-old Evan moved to the famous American talent hub with his mother. With the agent's support, Peters appeared in fashion shows and participated in castings. His path to fame began modestly with commercials for Papa John's Pizza, Albertson's grocery store, and a Sony gaming console.

After the commercials, Evan received an offer from the creators of the Disney series "Phil of the Future" (2004-2006) and appeared in 5 episodes. According to his mother, this was a very busy year for Evan. The roles were small but numerous: he played Eric Tavela in "Monk," Craig Baskin in "Without a Trace," and John Daniels in "One Tree Hill."

American Horror Story and Other Roles

After his successful start, Peters began acting frequently, but mostly in supporting roles. He played Jesse Varon in "Invasion," Ricky Hobbs in "An American Crime," and Ross in "Remarkable Power." He appeared in an episode of the famous "House M.D." with Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein. He also played Max Cooperman in the sports action film "Never Back Down" and Craig Hope in the dramatic comedy "Dirt." Additionally, he portrayed Oliver McDaniel in the detective thriller "The Mentalist" with Simon Baker in the lead role.

Evan's breakthrough came when he was cast in the lead role of Tate Langdon in the horror anthology "American Horror Story." The first season was set in a strange murder house that looked quite decent and cozy from the outside. The new family that moved in couldn't even imagine that the house came with the ghosts of its former owners. One of them, played by Peters, was a psychopathic teenager who orchestrated a school shooting.

The actor recalled:
What happened to my character in the past is awful and tragic. The problem is, it's not fiction. There have been so many school shootings, and Columbine is just one of them. It's terrible. On the other hand, it's cool to go crazy in front of the camera—it's every actor's dream. It's a tough and exhausting experience, but I enjoyed filming that scene; it was very interesting.
Peters' character caught the viewers' attention, and he appeared in the second season as Kit Walker, a patient in a psychiatric clinic. Alongside Sarah Paulson, he became a regular in all subsequent seasons until 2019, when he announced his desire not to participate in the ninth season. He cited his own fatigue from portraying dark characters on the show.

Horror fans particularly remember the character of serial killer James Patrick March, played by Evan, and his on-screen wife, portrayed by Lady Gaga. Peters often talked about working with the pop diva in interviews, noting that she is a very calm person in real life and knows how to work as part of a team. However, he also recalled with laughter that Lady Gaga's immersion in her character was so complete that she genuinely scared him on set multiple times.

Another popular character played by the actor was Quicksilver from the "X-Men" franchise, who appeared in three seasons, and also in the superhero film "Deadpool 2."

For his role as Kai Anderson in the seventh season of the horror anthology "American Horror Story," Peters was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Saturn Awards and the Critics' Choice Television Awards. His anti-hero character, a psychopathic cult leader, seeks sole power in Brookfield Heights.

The actor then appeared in a crossover of the first and third seasons, after which he announced a break in his career. Fans attributed this decision to him coping with the breakup with his fiancée, but there was no confirmation of these speculations.

Filming for the tenth season of "American Horror Story," in which Evan was set to appear again, was scheduled for October 2020. However, the new wave of coronavirus in America slightly altered the creators' plans, but the premiere still took place in 2021.

Additionally, in 2021, the actor appeared in Craig Zobel's drama "Mare of Easttown," where he played a detective.

Personal Life of Evan Peters

From 2007 to 2010, Evan dated actress Alexandra Breckenridge, who was five years older than him. He was then rumored to have had relationships with British model Pixie Geldof and actress Lindsay Lohan. For a year, he was often seen with colleague Alexia Quinn.

Their relationship was never smooth. In the summer of 2013, they moved into a Montreal hotel and had a terrible fight. The argument was so loud that neighbors called the police, and both were taken to the station. Evan’s partner broke his nose and bit him. Later, the couple reconciled, and representatives from both sides released official statements about the "incident and misunderstanding."

The incident served as a sort of reset for their relationship. A few years later, Evan even proposed to his beloved, but for unknown reasons, the wedding kept being postponed. In 2019, they announced their final breakup, and Peters deleted all their photos from his social media.

It later emerged that while engaged to Evan, Roberts became involved with actor Christopher Hines, but their relationship ended quickly. It seemed Peters forgave her, and they started appearing together again. But in the fall of 2019, paparazzi spotted Evan with singer Halsey (real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane). Peters and Frangipane attended Almost Famous Halloween together and left the event together. Rumors began circulating that she was the reason for his final breakup with Emma.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, Western media reported that Evan had split from Ashley. Sources cited the fact that the couple spent the quarantine period apart. The couple did not comment on these reports, but observant haters noticed that all posts with her boyfriend had disappeared from Halsey's social media page except one from Switzerland, where they celebrated Valentine’s Day. Additionally, she posted a new photo with an ex-boyfriend she dated before Peters.

In May 2023, rumors surfaced that Evan was dating actress Haley Lu Richardson, but if anything happened between them, fans didn't find out.
