3 new movies coming out on May 20: a horror from Netflix, an adventure from Guy Ritchie, and a fairy tale from A24

What to watch next week? We tell you about three premieres that you shouldn't miss!

This time, the streaming services have prepared projects for us, each of which is drastically different in atmosphere from the others.

"The Legend of Ochi"

Digital Release: May 20 (A24)

Director: Isaiah Saxon

Starring: Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, and Finn Wolfhard

An indie fantasy where instead of the usual wizards and castles, there is a Black Sea village, a primordial forest, and something that sends shivers down your spine.

It turned out atmospheric and unsettling, all in the style of A24 studio.

"Fountain of Youth"

Premiere: May 23 (Apple TV+)

Director: Guy Ritchie

Starring: Natalie Portman and John Krasinski

The plot follows a brother and sister who haven't spoken in years but are forced to team up for a single purpose—to find the mythical Fountain of Youth. It's not just a quest with traps and codes, but a true grand adventure.

We expect a smart action film, signature dialogues, and a couple of unexpected plot twists. Guy Ritchie returns and, judging by the trailer, is in top form.

"Fear Street: Prom Queen"

Premiere: May 23 (Netflix)

Director: Matt Palmer

Starring: India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin

The film, based on works by the iconic American writer R.L. Stine, promises to be a standalone story in the horror universe (the "Fear Street" trilogy was released in 2021). It will tell the story of the town of Shadyside in the late '80s.

The plot follows girls competing for the beauty queen title, but when a new contestant appears, everything turns into a thriller: the contestants begin to disappear one by one. Who is behind this remains a mystery.

A classic setup, but with an unexpected twist and nostalgia for the VHS era.

Overall, the week promises to be exciting—choose your preference: thriller, adventure, or horror. Earlier, we at zoomboola.com reported on a new series from the creator of "Black Panther."
