Filming Begins on New Star Wars Movie Starring Ryan Gosling

Filming for "Starfighter" is taking place on the Mediterranean Sea. What do we know about the tenth episode of the space saga?

Director Shawn Levy shared behind-the-scenes photos from the Mediterranean shoot. The shots capture alongside his young co-star Flynn Gray as they cruise the waves on some kind of vessel. Levy captioned the photo "Somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea," tagging Sardinia as their location.

The tenth Star Wars installment takes place five years after the ninth film – "The Rise of Skywalker." Jonathan Tropper, who's collaborated with Levy multiple times before, penned the screenplay. Starfighter is set to hit theaters on May 28, 2027. The zoomboola.com editorial team wants to add that the film will also star Mia Goth and Matt Smith, who was originally supposed to play the villain in "Skywalker" but things didn't work out.
