Horror Director Jordan Peele Falls Out of Favor with Studios

The filmmaker has made three auteur horror films that tackled extremely relevant themes for America, but the fourth one isn't coming together yet.

As TheInSnaider reports, the director's fourth feature film has lost its release date, though it was previously set for October 23, 2026. According to journalists, Peele doesn't have a script for the project yet. He had originally planned to release the film for Christmas 2024. The director is presumably now searching for an idea for his upcoming movie.

Meanwhile, an unnamed executive from a major Hollywood studio revealed that the reverence for Peele among producers and industry leaders has been waning. His debut film "Get Out," released in 2017, was a genuine phenomenon, but his two follow-ups – "Us" and "Nope" – while they made money at the box office, didn't deliver the profits that were expected. Each cost more than the previous one but earned less. The zoomboola.com editorial team reminds readers that Peele's horror film "Get Out" won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Even before his directing career, Jordan had already made a name for himself on TV as a comedian. Together with fellow comedian Keegan-Michael Key, they spent several years producing the sketch show "Key & Peele."
