"The White Lotus" star Aubrey Plaza has taken on a new provocative project.

Director Leah Rachel, creator of the Netflix series "Room 104," will helm the project. The screenplay comes from actress Rachel Sennott (known for "Shiva Baby" and "Bottoms").

The film will capture Fleiss during the tense days before her trial: she was scrambling around Los Angeles, trying to blackmail powerful acquaintances and leverage all her connections to make the case disappear. Helping her is an ambitious young writer named Jacqueline.

Filming will begin in Los Angeles in the coming months. The project comes from production company Pinky Promise, behind memorable films like "Bird" with Barry Keoghan and "The Last Showgirl" with Pamela Anderson.
