Mel Gibson plans to revive the career of Shia LaBeouf, who has been `canceled`

Actor Mel Gibson, who was once a major star but later fell under "cancellation" due to strange antics (about which more below), has taken under his wing the even more controversial Shia LaBeouf (many remember him from "Transformers"), and is now ready to bring him back to big cinema.

An ambitious goal, we thought in the editorial office. Especially considering the "antics" of LaBeouf himself, who, like his protégé, is currently under "cancellation." Throughout his career, he's found himself in all sorts of strange situations. Apparently, Gibson sees a reflection of his younger self in him and wants to offer some help.

According to “Radar Online,” the two actors have become almost like father and son. They constantly talk about faith, family relationships, and, of course, movies. They're like friends in adversity.

Gibson, who is nearly 70, has become a mentor and spiritual guru for the 38-year-old LaBeouf. Everyone is anticipating a film collaboration between them. At Zoomboola.com, we have seen many of their works but couldn't highlight anything noteworthy recently. There was “Last Looks” with Mel (2022), where he played TV star Alistair Pinch, accused of murdering his wife.

Quite the scandalous setup, don't you think? Right in the style of the real Gibson. Let’s recall that his career derailed back in 2006 when he was caught drunk driving: during the arrest, he even managed to make anti-Semitic remarks to the police officer.

Although no murder charges were brought against Gibson, he managed to tarnish his reputation. Hollywood, to put it mildly, stopped liking him.
Shia LaBeouf

LaBeouf faced a similar situation. He threatened someone with a knife for insulting his mother, trespassed into a pharmacy, and caused a DUI accident. His latest notable incident was in 2020, when his ex-girlfriend (singer FKA) sued him for abuse.

It's no surprise that Mel and Shia have bonded. Now they're both trying to rebuild their reputations. We'll see what comes of it. It might lead to something interesting from their collaboration. Time will tell whether this will be salvation for LaBeouf or just another turn in his self-destruction. Honestly, we’re not holding our breath for miraculous transformations, but we’d be happy to be proven wrong.

Let's add that Gibson is gradually "cleansing" himself. Not long ago, he celebrated a career revival, aided by a significant figure in Hollywood. We won't reveal everything, but this "savior" is known to almost everyone. You can read about it in our article.
