Snoop Dogg Quits Smoking

Rapper Snoop Dogg has quit smoking after many years dedicated to the habit. He shared this news on Instagram.

The 52-year-old singer mentioned that he made the decision together with his family. "After much consideration and conversation with my family, I've decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time," Snoop Dogg wrote. He posted this message under a photo of himself thoughtfully clasping his fingers.

Snoop, who once boasted about smoking up to 81 joints a day, had hinted before that he was planning to quit. In January, he told Jimmy Kimmel that he tried to give up marijuana 20 years ago but failed.
In March, he informed The Daily Mail that he had drastically reduced his marijuana intake, which many closely associate with his image. He explained that becoming a grandfather encouraged him to reevaluate his approach to health.
Being a grandfather has changed me in multiple ways. The main way is being concerned with how I live, how I move, the kind of people I'm associated with, because I want to see my grandkids grow old. The only way I can do that is to take precautionary steps as far as how I move, who I hang out with, where I go out, my intake, what am I intaking. Am I doing extra-curricular or am I just doing what I’m supposed to be doing?
Fans are unsure how to react to this statement. One user wrote: "Bro, this isn't April Fool's Day."
