Who Will Play Malfoy and the Dursleys: HBO Announces 9 More Actors from the "Harry Potter" Series

Who got the roles of Ron Weasley's mother? Who will portray Lucius Malfoy on screen? And who will play Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge?

HBO, the company developing the series about "the boy who lived," has finally announced another batch of main cast members for the project.

Here's who joined the acting roster (pictured left to right):

Catherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley; Lux Pratt as Draco Malfoy; Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy; Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan; Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil; Sienna Mousa as Lavender Brown; Belle Pauli as Petunia Dursley; Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley; Bertie Carvel as Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge.

Cast of the Harry Potter series
HBO seems to be keeping its promise to make characters closer to their book ages. Petunia and Vernon look younger this time around, just as intended in the books — they're only in their early thirties when the story begins.

The cast includes BAFTA and Tony Award winners, so they're clearly aiming high. Molly Weasley goes to Catherine Parkinson (you might've seen her in "The IT Crowd" and "Sherlock"), while the Minister of Magic will be played by Bertie Carvel, who theater fans definitely know (and like Catherine, he also appeared in "Sherlock").

We know a bit more about the series itself now. It'll be a faithful adaptation of the books — not a remake of the films, but a separate story that stays closer to the source material. Each season covers one book.

Everything's being created under J.K. Rowling's supervision — she's back on the producer list. The screenplay is written by Francesca Gardiner ("Succession"), and Mark Mylod is directing several episodes — the same guy who worked on "Game of Thrones" and "The Menu."

The series will air on HBO Max — first in the US, then across Europe: Germany, Italy, and the UK. The original films are staying on the platform — nobody's removing them.

So everything's moving according to plan. Filming hasn't started yet, but the cast is coming together — and that's already progress. Earlier, we at zoomboola.com covered other actors who joined the series.
