Jaeden Lieberher is an American actor, best known for the films St. Vincent, Confirmation and horror film It, where he played the leading role – Bill Denbro in childhood.
Childhood and family
Jaeden Wesley Lieberher was born on January 4, 2003 in Philadelphia. The boy's parents are housewife Angela Martel and famous British chef Wes Lieberher. Jaeden is the eldest of four children in the family: the actor has two brothers and a sister.
Lieberher is a quarter Korean by his mother, and ancestors of his father were the Germans, the British, the Scots, the Irish, the French-Canadians and the Belgians.
In 2011, when Jaeden was 8 years old, he moved with his mother to Los Angeles. Later, Lieberher admitted that did not expect that such a step would lead him into the world of the cinema.

Soon after moving to Los Angeles, Jaeden, though he could not boast of any special acting classes, began to appear in commercials. In 2013 the young actor was invited to play in a short film by George Bessudo «Mountain», that tells a story about a young couple coping with the death of their only son.
The second experience of filming became much more challenging for Jaeden – Lieberher was approved for the leading role in the comedy «St. Vincent». In the film, the boy, whose parents have just divorced, finds a real friend and mentor in a war veteran living next door.
The work in this project has allowed Jaeden to get acquainted with such famous actors as Melissa McCarthy, Naomi Watts and Bill Murray, who actually played an old veteran. Shortly before the premiere of the film Lieberher first visited a talk show, becoming a star guest on The Ellen Show.
Participation in the film, that received a lot of positive feedbacks, was a decisive moment for an actor starting a career because he was noticed by many prominent directors. Same year Jaeden was starring in the romantic comedy «Heart to pieces», playing the main character in the 6 years of age. The role of the protagonist in adulthood was played by Chris Evans.
In 2015, Lieberher starred in the comedy «Aloha», which gathered an incredible cast of Hollywood actors like Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, John Krasinski, Alec Baldwin and Bill Murray, with whom Jaeden had had the privilege to work just the year before. Same year he had a chance to voice over the character from the popular animated series American Dad in one of the episodes of the 10th season.
Also in 2015, Jaeden was cast for the role of Johnny Masters in the series Masters of Sex. The boy played the son of the main characters of the series – gynecologist, Dr. William (Michael Sheen) and his ex-wife, Libby Masters (Caitlin Fitzgerald). The Lieberher's character was involved in filming of 3d and 4th seasons, acting in 11 episodes in general.
In 2016, the actor has starred in a short fantasy film «Framed: The Adventures of Zion Man» by the director Brands Lee Lau. In March 2016 premiere of the comedy-drama «Confirmation» took place. This is a story about a divorced father (Clive Owen) and his eight-year-old son (Jaeden Lieberher) who spend a few weekends together, which might be the most unusual and fun in their entire lives.
The following month, the audience could notice Jaeden in the fantasy thriller «Midnight Special» by Jeff Nichols , where the main roles were played by such Hollywood stars as Michael Shannon, Kirsten Dunst, and Adam Driver.
In June 2017 the drama «Henry's Book», where Lieberher gave a brilliant performance, was premiered. Jaeden portrayed an image of an eleven-year-old boy Henry, the gifted child with extraordinary intelligence who uses his abilities to give a great help to his single mother (Naomi Watts) and a brother Peter (Jacob Tremblay).
In September 2017 the long-awaited horror movie «It», based on the novel by Stephen King, appeared on the big screens. According to this mystical story, the company of schoolchildren goes out to fight with the demon-clown (Bill Skarsgard), terrorizing all the kids in a small American town. In the film, Lieberher played Bill Denbrough, the leader of the «Club of Losers», a brave teenager ready to do anything for the salvation of his younger brother Georgie from the bloodthirsty beast.
Bill's best friends in the film were characters played by Sophia Lillis, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Grazer, Wyatt Oleff and Chosen Jacobs. The boy got along with all of six in reality and admitted that before «It» he had not ever received such a pleasure from filming.
Preparing for the role, Jaeden had to learn to stutter. To sound more natural he had been watching different kind of videos on YouTube that explained the origin and pecularities of stuttering, and in addition the videos with stuttering children. For two weeks he was exclusively stammering with everyone and then worked with a speech therapist.
The filming the quarry scene was my favorite one. We were not allowed to jump off the cliff, but we had been watching our doubles performing it. All day long was like we were just having fun in the quarry with no work at all.
The private life of Jaeden Lieberher
Jaeden is good at riding on a skateboard, also he is a fan of baseball club «Philadelphia Phillies» and is fond of mountain skiing.
Of course, after the premiere of «It» there were endless discussions of the relationships between Jaeden and Sophia Lillis, whom the audience immediately called «the cutest couple of the year». However, it is not true – the actor, by his own words, is too young to think about girls yet.
