"Star Wars" Poster Legend Passes Away

Legendary artist Drew Struzan has passed away at the age of 78. He created posters for countless iconic films and designed numerous album covers.

As The Guardian reports, the artist's passing was announced on his official social media account.

Struzan launched his career designing album covers for music groups. He worked with Beach Boys, Bee Gees, Earth, Wind & Fire, Liberace, and Black Sabbath. His cover for Alice Cooper's "Welcome to My Nightmare" was named by Rolling Stone as one of the greatest album covers of all time.

In the 1970s, the artist transitioned to film, creating movie posters. He designed the second poster for Star Wars, and soon commissions were pouring in.
