Rapper Ice Cube, who played the lead role in the film, revealed in a recent interview that his scenes were shot back in 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic. The entire film took just 15 days to make.
"There was no director there. There were no other actors there. That was the only way we could actually make the movie," the musician noted, explaining that he was isolated from the rest of the film crew.

Ice Cube also explained why the film was only released five years after it was made. Universal originally shot the picture, but later transferred the rights to Amazon. The process dragged on.
