Laser Bow and Dreadlocks: "Predator: Badlands" Trailer Drops

For director Dan Trachtenberg, this marks his third film about alien hunters that he's helmed. What has the filmmaker cooked up this time around?

In the clip released by 20th Century Studios, we see a female android awakening on a distant planet. Apparently, at some point she'll team up with a young alien who's traveled to "the most dangerous planet in the universe" to complete his rite of passage – his first hunt.

Interestingly, Tia, played by actress , is property of the Weyland-Yutani corporation, well-known to all Alien movie fans. It looks like the creators have once again merged these two cinematic universes.

We should add that the Predator in this movie bears little resemblance to the ruthless killers we know from previous films. This one's a teenager, whose appearance has already become the butt of jokes on social media. His weaponry is pretty strange too. Among other things, the young predator will apparently be using a laser bow, judging by the trailer.

The zoomboola.com editorial team wants to add that Trachtenberg has already made two Predator movies – the live-action "Prey" and the animated "Killer of Killers." Both the first and second received excellent ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. Though there were those who criticized the director's films for their simplistic plot and heavy-handed messaging.

The new Predator movie is scheduled for release on November 7th.
