Jackie Chan was awarded an honorary black belt in karate

The award to the hero and creator of adventure action films was presented at the premiere of the film "Karate Kid: Legends" in New York.

The black belt was presented to the artist by the Secretary General of the World Karate Federation (WKF), Toshihisa Nagura. Alongside Chan, the belt was also received by actor Ralph Macchio, who played the leading role in the film.

According to WKF President Antonio Espinós, few have managed to convey the spirit and values of the legendary martial art on screen as the creators of The Karate Kid series have.
