The children investigate the disappearance of people and encounter Pennywise in the trailer for `It: Welcome to Derry`

What was shown in the trailer for the upcoming series? And who will play the main character — the terrifying clown who is hunting the residents?

In the dark heart of America, It awakens once more. HBO has finally unveiled the trailer for the series "It: Welcome to Derry," a prequel to Andrés Muschietti's duology, which, according to Hollywood Reporter, grossed over a billion dollars at the box office.

And no, it's not just a return to creepy clowns and disappearing children. This time, we're in for a story that digs deeper—into where fear is born.

The trailer begins with a snowy highway and a lonely boy walking along it. Noticing him, a couple decides to stop and give the boy a ride. They ask where he's headed, to which the frozen stranger replies, "Anywhere. Just not Derry."

In the following scenes, we see a school, anxious conversations among students about missing children, police officers asking the students not to get involved, and, of course, the familiar image of Pennywise laughing in the dark.

The story is set in 1962—27 years before the Losers' Club first encounters It. However, in this series, everything also begins with children. With friendship. With a desire to uncover the truth. And, as usual, with something lurking in the depths of the sewers.

Bill Skarsgård, by the way, returns to the role of the clown, with the same Andrés Muschietti behind the camera, who directed four original films. The cast also includes Madeleine Stowe, James Remar, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, and Taylour Paige.

The series is expected to expand the universe. Muschietti mentioned in an interview with Entertainment Weekly: This is another part of American history with a new set of fears for children, as well as adults, considering the aftermath of the Cold War. Our starting point is 1962, but we make several leaps back in time...

Well, the premise is promising. We will be able to experience the new story in the "It" universe in the fall of 2025. Earlier, on zoomboola.com, we analyzed the trailer for another horror film—"Bambi: The Forest Nightmare."
