Elle Woods is back. The reboot of `Legally Blonde` has a release date
updated
What will the series, telling the backstory of the heroine, be about? And in what role is the actress, who played the blonde in the original, involved in the project?
Prime Video has confirmed: the prequel to "Legally Blonde" titled "Elle" will be released in the summer of 2026.
The story centers on Elle Woods herself, but before her Harvard studies and court legal practice. We will see her as she was in high school.
The lead role is played by Lexi Maintri, a young actress who was cast through a national selection.
Elle Woods performer in the reboot
Judging by the first shots from the set, she definitely has the charisma that once made Reese Witherspoon a pop culture icon. By the way, Witherspoon herself is also involved—she is producing the show and, according to her, has already visited the set and "can't hide her excitement."
I am thrilled to announce that we have started filming, and not just filming but working on two episodes. Last week, I was on the set and saw the entire cast and everyone who worked so hard to make this dream come true.

Alongside Maintri, the cast includes June Diane Raphael, Tom Everett Scott, Chandler Kinney, Jessica Belkin, and others.

There is just over a year left until the series release. In the meantime, you can rewatch the original duology with Witherspoon. Previously, we at zoomboola.com talked about the reboot of the series "Desperate Housewives." To find out what the new project will be about, read our article.
