Viewing experience
The director, known for "Hitman", clearly drew inspiration from "The Raid", "Ong-Bak" and "John Wick". The camera hits hard, fights are brutal, editing is razor-sharp. The action sequences will leave you breathless, so boredom isn't an option. That makes sense, since the screenplay came from Guillaume Lemans — the guy who wrote "Point Blank" and "The Next Three Days."

What critics and audiences are saying
On Rotten Tomatoes — 81% from critics. IMDb is more modest at 6.3, but viewers are praising the action. One IMDb reviewer going by FeastMode wrote: "The fight scenes in this movie are amazing, some of the best I've seen. And I've seen a lot. I know a thing or two about how fight scenes are filmed in movies. This is as clear and brutal as it gets."
"Farang" isn't the next genre masterpiece, but it's an honest, occasionally inventive action flick with solid atmosphere and spectacular moments. If you're craving some hard-hitting action — give this film a shot. Just keep in mind: it's rated R. Earlier on zoomboola.com we covered "Le pupille" — a surprisingly bold Disney short film about a boarding school.
