Dove Cameron Biography
Dove Cameron is an American actress and singer who shot to fame starring in Disney Channel's "Liv and Maddie" (2013-2017) and the hit fantasy musical "Descendants" (2015) and its sequels.
Early Life and Childhood
Born Chloe Celeste Hosterman on January 15, 1996, in Seattle, Washington, Dove Cameron faced tragedy when her father, Philip Alan Hosterman, passed away in 2011. Her mother, Bonnie Wallace, is a producer and writer. Her parents had already divorced before his passing. She has an older sister, Claire Hosterman (born in 1989), who's also musically talented as a singer and vocal coach.

Dove has opened up about facing constant bullying at school starting in fifth grade. But despite the social struggles, she stayed laser-focused on her entertainment dreams.
Her big break started taking shape when she and her family relocated to Los Angeles at 14. She then joined the National Championship Show Choir at Burbank Middle School.I had a burning desire to become an actress and singer. I was consumed by this dream.
Film Career
In 2012, Cameron landed a role in a Disney Channel series originally called "Bits and Pieces." After filming the pilot, the show was retitled "Liv and Maddie," with Dove scoring the challenging dual lead roles as twin sisters Liv and Maddie Rooney.



In 2019, the third "Descendants" movie hit screens, bringing Dove Cameron back once again. This time around, her character turns to her long-absent father Hades for help.

Music
On August 27, 2013, Dove Cameron dropped her cover of Imagine Dragons' "On Top of the World" as a single for "Liv and Maddie." The track stayed at #17 on the Billboard Kid Digital Songs chart for three weeks. Two months later, Dove dropped "Better In Stereo" through Walt Disney Records, scoring her first #1 hit. In 2013, Dove started dating actor and singer Ryan McCartan, her "Liv and Maddie" co-star who would later become her music partner. In April 2016, the couple announced their engagement, but they broke up less than six months later.
