Early Life

Before landing the role of Ron Weasley, Alastair was virtually unknown, with just a few commercial spots under his belt — including playing a son at dinner in an Albert Bartlett potato ad. The Harry Potter series is essentially his first major break.

When casting the central roles for the series based on Rowling's literary phenomenon, producers wanted candidates who'd be between nine and eleven years old by spring 2025, when filming was set to begin. Based on this timeline, Alastair was born sometime between 2014 and 2016.
