The trailer for the new adaptation of "The Running Man" has been released

Stephen King's novel "The Running Man" is set in 2019. The United States is in deep economic crisis, with totalitarianism and decay ruling the country. To release social tension, authorities stage reality shows where participants become fugitives. They're hunted everywhere, and it's all broadcast on TV. People join the show hoping to win huge cash prizes.

The novel was already adapted in 1987, with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role. The film turned out decent, but it was miles away from the cyberpunk dystopia that King had crafted. The zoomboola.com editorial team wants to note that this new adaptation, starring , clearly feels much closer to the original in tone. At the same time, plenty in the trailer suggests the film will pack serious dark humor – something that wasn't present in King's dead-serious novel. The movie hits theaters in November.
