While some are waiting for the release of the new "Avatar," James Cameron is already building a bridge to another universe — this time not blue, but with a dark fantasy hue.
The director personally announced that after "Fire and Ash" (the third film in the Pandora franchise), he is taking a break from Na'vi stories to work on adapting Joe Abercrombie's fresh hit novel "The Devils" (2025). The novel, by the way, barely hit the shelves and has already soared to the top of the British and American bestseller lists.

I love Joe's books. Especially 'Best Served Cold' — simply amazing. But it was 'The Devils' that sparked me to finally buy the rights and start writing the screenplay with the author himself..
And, admittedly, he hit the nail on the head. The novel is indeed striking: it's a story about a group of monsters who, by fate and script, are forced to save Europe from creepy yet charismatic cannibal elves. You immediately imagine the scale to which Cameron, of course, will not remain indifferent.
The director calls the plot a "rollercoaster" with Abercrombie's signature style — and, as he himself says, "this adaptation practically writes itself."
Moreover, James is working for the first time in a long while on adapting an existing world, rather than his own invented one — but what a world it is. As the writer himself assures:
I can't imagine anyone better to bring this strange and wonderful book to the screen..
And for those who miss Pandora — according to Hollywood Reporter, "Avatar: Fire and Ash" will hit theaters on December 19. Beyond that, it looks like we're in for an epic fantasy with teeth, claws, and mature twists. And you know, this year the Christmas tree will definitely be in the forest... with the elves. Earlier, we at zoomboola.com shared about eight new films and series coming out soon: the continuation of "Wednesday," Ben Affleck's action movie, and a comedy with Sandler.Facebook user Jill BuffieI'm so glad someone had the sense to take on this series! It has amazing humor, and I can see Peter Dinklage in the lead role!
