Armie Hammer, whose career was derailed, will return to the screens in a new western

updated
Actor Armie Hammer intends to resume his film career after a prolonged absence.

The 38-year-old Hammer, whose Hollywood reputation suffered in 2021 due to accusations of sexual assault, has landed a role in a new western titled "Frontier Crucible." The film's director will be Dallas Sonnier, known for his work on the movie "Bone Tomahawk."

"I am excited to work with Armie," Sonnier shared with Entertainment Weekly. The cast also includes Thomas Jane, Miles Clohessy, Eli Brown, and Eddie Spears.

Notably, Hammer already has experience in westerns, such as "The Lone Ranger" with Johnny Depp, which was released in 2013. The last time viewers saw Armie on screen was in the film "Death on the Nile," which premiered in early 2022, although it was filmed before the scandal erupted.

The actor denied the assault accusations, calling them "nonsense." The Los Angeles police conducted an investigation, but the district attorney ultimately decided not to file charges due to a lack of evidence.

Zoomboola.com reminds that after a long absence from the screen, actor Daniel Day-Lewis will also return, who previously announced his retirement from cinema.
