Kate Winslet revealed that she did not hear DiCaprio in the final scene of `Titanic`

updated
In a recent interview for the podcast Happy Sad Confused, actress Kate Winslet shed light on the filming of the iconic scene from "Titanic," where Rose is saved on a piece of debris, and Jack remains in the water.

It turned out that instead of the ocean, a shallow artificial pond was used, where DiCaprio had to kneel to create the illusion of depth. Winslet joked that at any moment she could leave the makeshift raft and go about her business since the water level was up to her waist.

She also recalled that the noise of the pumps made it impossible to record dialogues. As a result, the last minutes of the movie, including the poignant farewell scene between Rose and Jack, were fully re-recorded in the studio.

The actress suggested that the film's director, James Cameron, might not be thrilled with her revelations, but "Titanic" fans would surely appreciate the chance to peek behind the scenes of the cult film and learn how its most memorable moments were created.
