Margot Robbie to Produce a Film Based on The Sims Game
Her new project is a feature film based on the computer game The Sims. The 33-year-old actress and her production company, LuckyChap, which she runs with her husband and other partners, have signed a contract to shoot an adaptation of the popular everyday life simulator. As The Hollywood Reporter reports, the film will be directed by Kate Herron, who directed the first season of the series "Loki." At this point, it's unclear whether Margot will act in the film. She previously hinted at wanting to take a break after the success of "Barbie," which became the highest-grossing film of 2023, earning over a billion dollars at the box office.
Zoomboola.com reminds: The Sims game is like a dollhouse on the computer. You can build a mansion, choose furniture, wallpapers, and interior decor. Then, the created home is filled with characters made by the player – it can be a ready-made family or just roommates who are yet to become a family. Characters need to go to work to earn money to improve their living conditions. In the process, the characters learn, get sick, sort out their relationships, get married, have children, age, and die. Will the characters of the new film, like in "Barbie," step out of the game space into the real world? Or, conversely, will real people enter The Sims and save the virtual reality?
