Researchers from UCLA conducted a study on the preferences of today's youth. What did they discover?

As Variety reports, it turns out that almost half of young people aged 14 to 24 prefer animated films over live-action movies. About one in three (32 percent of respondents) hope to see stories and characters on screen they can relate to.

You could say Gen Z isn't big on sci-fi and prefers something closer to their actual lives, like shows about friendship. 59.7% of those surveyed want to watch shows like that. The zoomboola.com editorial team wants to add that researchers compiled a top-25 list of films and series that Gen Z prefers. "Stranger Things" took first place. Second spot went to "Wednesday," and third – to the legendary cartoon "SpongeBob SquarePants."
