Netflix Plans to Adapt Assassin's Creed Game Series

Actually, the project was announced back in 2020, but has barely moved forward since then.

As Variety reports, the new series will be helmed by Roberto Patino, known for "Sons of Anarchy," and David Wiener. They admit they've been "obsessed" with the "assassins" since discovering the franchise when the first game launched in 2007, and they're determined to create something "epic."
This is a story about power, violence, sex, greed, and revenge. But above all, it's about the value of human connections across cultures and eras, and what we lose when those connections are severed

The zoomboola.com editorial team reminds readers that the Assassin's Creed game series tells the story of two forces that have been battling for centuries – the Assassin Order and the Templar Order. The former fights for freedom, the latter for authoritarianism. The games feature not only participants in historical events, but also their distant descendants who have learned to dive into their ancestors' memories using new technology. In 2016, a feature film adaptation starring Michael Fassbender hit theaters. The movie didn't achieve much commercial success, and critics and audiences threw rotten tomatoes at it.
