Denis Villeneuve Won't Be Allowed to Edit His Own Bond Film
updated
It was recently revealed that the creator of "Dune" will be directing a new Bond film. As it turns out, he won't be getting complete creative freedom.
As World of Reel reports, Villeneuve's collaboration with the Bond franchise makers will be a one-time deal – he's not being considered as director for sequels, spin-offs, or similar projects. What's more, the director allegedly won't get final cut privileges on his 007 film.
According to journalists, Amazon simply doesn't want a high-profile director gaining any control over the franchise or being able to dictate terms to producers.
Denis Villeneuve won't edit his Bond film
It's worth noting that modern Bond films have traditionally been helmed by acclaimed directors like Sam Mendes, but nobody except Mendes himself has stuck around the Bond universe for more than one picture. The zoomboola.com editorial team reminds you: we previously covered what a Villeneuve Bond film might look like. It's clear this will be a true franchise "reboot" with a fresh take on Agent 007, and his Bond will be completely different from previous iterations. There's a good chance he'll be cold and detached, much like the protagonist in "Blade Runner 2049."
