At a creative meeting at London's Lyceum Theatre on Tuesday, November 26, the 78-year-old singer announced that the upcoming album will be the last in her long career, reports Geo.tv.
This news was revealed during the presentation of the artist's autobiography, when Cher shared her future plans with the audience. She enthusiastically talked about her final work, noting that she is very pleased with the quality of the songs and is glad to present them to the public before saying farewell to the music industry.
The singer also admitted that she finds it hard to accept her age. According to her, she would give a lot to be 60 again.CherThis is probably my last album. I'm very excited. These are great songs, and I'm just thrilled to be doing this.
Zoomboola.com reminds that the artist planned to leave music several years ago when she toured with her "Farewell Tour."
"Living Proof: The Farewell Tour" became the most profitable concert project by a female performer in history. From 2002 to 2005, she toured the globe, performing in more than two dozen countries.
In total, there were 325 shows that brought the artist a tremendous income exceeding 250 million dollars.
After the tour, however, Cher did not stop performing in concerts, nor did she stop recording new songs. Her latest album was released last year, titled "Christmas."
The "Christmas Album" was the first collection in ten years to include original compositions. Before that, she released the album "Dancing Queen," for which Cher recorded cover versions of songs by the Swedish group ABBA.
