Russian cats will not be able to participate in international competitions

Due to the situation in Ukraine, the International Cat Federation (FIFe) banned the participation of Russian cats and cats in competitions and exhibitions outside of Russia. The restrictions will remain until May 31.

A message appeared on the website of the International Cat Federation that Russian cats will no longer be able to take part in competitions outside the Russian Federation. This decision is due to Russia's policy on the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, FIFe pedigree books outside of Russia will not register cats bred in the country. These restrictions will last until May 31. They may be revised if necessary.

The organization will allocate money to support Ukrainian breeders and cat lovers.

“Our Ukrainian colleagues are desperately trying to take care of their cats and other animals in these difficult conditions. We are very pleased that many members of FIFe clubs bordering Ukraine are extending a helping hand to their Ukrainian breeder friends,” — FIFe noted.

Zoomboola.com wants to remind that neither Russian nor Belarusian athletes will be able to participate in the Paralympic Games in Beijing. This decision was taken by the International Paralympic Committee.

On February 24th Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. On the 28th of February Russian and Ukrainian delegations had a meeting on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border near the Pripyat River to discuss the situation, but they didn't get any results yet.
