Actor Richard Gere will permanently leave America and move to his wife`s homeland
The 32-acre mansion, once owned by rock musician Paul Simon, features six bedrooms, a pool, and a guest house. Gere bought it a few years ago but decided to part with the property to move to Spain, the homeland of his wife, publicist Alejandra Silva, reports In Style.
The 75-year-old artist explained the reasons behind his decision. He expressed a desire to be closer to his wife's family and noted his love for Spanish culture. Gere admitted that he had never lived permanently outside the United States before, so the upcoming move would be a new adventure for him: "Alejandra has given me six years of life in my world, now it's my turn," said Gere. The actor confessed that he is in love with Spain and its cheerful people. Their children will accompany the couple to Europe. However, Gere will keep a home in New York.
Zoomboola.com reminds us that Gere met Alejandra Silva, the daughter of the former vice president of the Real Madrid football club, in 2015. They dated for three years and eventually decided to marry.
During their relationship, the couple had two sons. Additionally, Richard has a child from his previous marriage to actress and model Carey Lowell. The couple officially solidified their relationship in 2002, although Carey and Richard had been together for almost seven years, three of which they lived together.
However, in his marriage to his first wife, model Cindy Crawford, they had no children. Their union lasted only four years. Notably, despite the high profile of both parties involved, the marriage did not leave a significant mark on their lives.
