The project is called "Magic 8 Ball." Shyamalan co-wrote the script with Brad Falchuk, who previously worked on the cult series "American Horror Story." Mattel, the company behind the "Barbie" blockbuster, will handle production. The show is expected to be a dark psychological thriller. For those unfamiliar, the iconic Magic 8 Ball is a sphere filled with dark liquid. Inside floats a 20-sided die with different answers printed on each face. You shake the ball with your question in mind, and it reveals one of its built-in responses like "yes," "no," or "outlook not so good." How do you turn that into a series? Good question. But is known for bizarre, twisty plots, so it'll be interesting to see what he comes up with.
