Childhood and youth
Nicole Evangeline Lilly was born on 3 August 1979 in a province of Canada named Alberta, in Fort Saskatchewan. Her father was an economics professor and her mother worked as a beauty consultant. The parents were very religious which is the reason why Evangeline and her both younger sisters were raised strictly. There was no TV at home and the kids went to movies less than three times a year.


Acting career
Following his advice, Lilly soon began appearing in commercials and landed photo shoots with glossy magazines. Landing a contract with Ford Models in 2001 marked a major breakthrough for the aspiring model, whose agent had spotted the striking young woman right on the street. Soon Evangeline was offered jobs in cinema and TV.

In 2008, the actress appeared in two films simultaneously – "Afterwards" and "The Hurt Locker." Then in 2011, "Real Steel" was released with Evangeline in the leading role.

In 2003, Lilly married Murray Hone (mentioned earlier) but soon realized she felt more friendship than romance toward him.On the set of "Lost," the actress experienced her first real love. She fell for actor Dominic Monaghan, who played rocker and drug addict Charlie and was already famous for playing Merry in "The Lord of the Rings."

In 2011, it became known that the actress was pregnant by Norman Kali, an assistant director on "Lost." Baby Kahekili was born in March – a name that translates from Hawaiian as "thunder." The couple became parents for the second time in 2015.
