Astrology

Astrology is a complex field at the intersection of esotericism, psychology, astronomy, and philosophy.

Astrologers study how celestial bodies influence a person’s character and fate (natal astrology), seek answers to specific questions (horary astrology), choose the best moment for certain actions (electional astrology), and even predict the future of entire nations (mundane astrology).

Astrology, of course, is not considered a science in the traditional sense, mainly due to its weak evidence base and heavy mysticism. Nonetheless, it is an ancient system—over 4,000 years old—first recorded in the writings of the priests of ancient Babylon. By studying the positions of celestial bodies, they interpreted the will of the gods. Yet, it’s likely that people were observing the stars and attributing mystical and predictive properties to them long before the Mesopotamians.

Zodiac

The zodiac is a belt of the celestial sphere through which the Sun, planets, and Moon travel. The term reflects the trajectory along the apparent path of the Sun—the ecliptic.

A zodiac sign usually refers to one of the twelve 30-degree sectors forming the 360-degree orbit of the Earth around the Sun. The zodiac cycle does not align with the calendar year. The first sign, Aries, begins on the day of the vernal equinox, and Pisces closes the circle.

Characteristics of Zodiac Signs

It is believed that individuals born under a particular zodiac sign possess certain traits. Of course, it’s impossible to divide humanity into 12 groups and claim that each group contains people with identical personalities. A zodiac sign reflects tendencies and traits that may be more or less pronounced, shaped by upbringing, free will, and the environment. These include:
  • Emotional stability
  • Ability or inability to empathize
  • Leadership qualities
  • Mystical abilities and intuition
To learn a zodiac sign, all you need is the date of birth. If you're unsure, select the day and month of birth in the block below—we’ll tell you the most important details about your sign. Read more about the characteristics of zodiac signs here.

Zodiac Compatibility

Based on the characteristics of zodiac signs, their strengths and weaknesses largely determine how people of different signs interact. Astrologers have established patterns of compatibility among zodiac pairs.

Analyzing the compatibility of two zodiac signs can help better understand potential challenges and opportunities for growth within a romantic relationship. When someone new enters your life, astrology can guide you through the complexities of relationships. Read more about zodiac compatibility here.

Elements

The concept of the four elements was introduced by the Greek philosopher Empedocles, who identified fire, air, water, and earth as the primary components shaping our world. In astrology, the elements are grouped into trines: four triangles connecting three signs that belong to the same element. Each trine has its unique characteristics. Houses in Astrology

A house in astrology represents the position of celestial bodies at the time of a person’s birth. To determine this, you need to know not only the date and time but also the place of birth. People born in different time zones will have unique natal charts.

The natal chart provides insights into a person’s ruling planet, co-ruler, junior co-ruler, and symbolic ruler, determined by the house's extent. Each house corresponds to a zodiac sign and influences the personality. Learn more about astrological houses here.

Planets

Planets in astrology define the influence of astronomical bodies on a person's character. Depending on the birth date, a zodiac sign may be in one of the planets, each either enhancing qualities or neutralizing opposing traits. This influence can be destructive or supportive along the life journey. Learn more about the characteristics of planets in astrology here.

Modalities

All signs are divided into three modalities: cardinal, mutable, and fixed. This parameter shows how each sign reacts to circumstances. Read more about the modalities of zodiac signs here.
